Technology education goal defining framework

The purpose of this article is to develop theoretical framework for defining technology education (TE) goals. First, approaches technocratic determinism, the determinism nature, voluntarism and aestheticism have been considered within same framework. Second, four alternative definitions (Freenberg, 2007) applied these approaches. Instrumentalism emphasises learners’ creative product production. critical theory cultural impact using learning design knowledge. Determinism learner understanding substantivism appraising. Third, analysing by approaches, a sample TE goals Finnish craft student teachers (n=100) wanted junior- high school teaching described. corresponding materials showed that they were evenly distributed across all provides comprehensive thinking ways curriculum.
